The NYC Department of Buildings enacted Local Law 26, Reference Standards 61 & 61A, mandating the use of MEA-approved, photoluminescent exit path markings and signs in the stairwells of all commercial buildings over 75 feet. The deadline for compliance was July 1, 2006.
